Beavers lose Heartbreaker at Home

On January 11th, in a game that came down to the final shot, Blackburn Men's Basketball team found themselves just three points short of a conference win over the Webster University Gorloks.  The Beavers seemed to have control of the game until the final 10 min when the Gorloks slowly cut into the Beaver lead.  The Gorloks attacked the basket with full force as the Gorloks went to the line 30 times in the evening.  A last second shot from the corner clanked off the iron as the Gorloks won by a final score of 88-85.

Leading the Beavers in scoring was Jake Maestranzi with 18.  DeAndre Manuel led the team in assists with six.  The rebounding leader on the evening for the Beavers was Willie Orange and Manuel with seven apiece.  The Beavers shot 50% from the field and 47% from beyond the arc.

Leading the Gorloks in scoring was Rabasa Dobbins-Turner with a game high 20 points.  Enrique Tankins led the Gorloks in rebounds with seven.  Leading the team in assists was Jonathan Odjo with six assists.  The Gorloks shot 57% from the field and 58% from three point range.  Webster got to the line an astounding 30 times in the evening and made 21 of their attempts.
