Coming off a strong home conference win on Saturday February 3rd, the Blackburn Men's Basketball team looked to keep up the play on Wednesday against the Greenville University Panthers in Greenville, Ill.  This clash was tabbed as the SLIAC game of the week on the schedule as the prior meeting against these two teams played to Blackburn's favor as they won at Blackburn by a score of 117-108.  With the added pressure of trying to secure a spot in the conference tournament, the Beavers looked to have a repeat of what happened at Blackburn, happen in Greenville.  The Panthers started fast and finished fast as the Beavers had no time to catch up.  Greenville won over the Beavers by a final score of 130-112.  

Despite having six players in double figures the Beavers found poor free throw shooting and ball handling to be the woes to the game.  The Panthers relentless trap defense forced Blackburn to make full court passes that just didn't seem to connect.  Having attempted 24 free throws in the second half alone, the Beavers connected on only 11 of those attempts.  

Leading the way for the Beavers was Duncan King (Junior) with 19 points.  Also scoring in double figures was Karson Hayes (Sophomore) and Malcolm Scott (Senior) with 18 points apiece.  Nigel Ferrell (Sophomore) tallied 13 points, while Reed Rusten (Senior) and Jamaya Wyatt (Junior) both came off the bench to add 12 points apiece.  Jordan Clay (Sophomore) led the team in rebounds with 10, and Ferrell led the team in assists with seven.  While Bryson Kirby (Freshmen) added six assists as well.  

Blackburn looks ahead as the race to the conference tournament continues on Saturday, February 10th, on Senior Day when Spalding University Golden Eagles come to Blackburn College.  With the tip off set for 3 pm.  Senior Day ceremonies will take place in between the Women's and Men's Game.
