Men's Basketball Ends Season with 95-86 Victory at Principia
ELSAH, IL -- The Blackburn Men’s Basketball team traveled to Principia College on Saturday afternoon and took a 95-86 victory in the final St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game of the season.
ELSAH, IL -- The Blackburn Men's Basketball team traveled to Principia College on Saturday afternoon and took a 95-86 victory in the final St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game of the season.
Junior Nick Cook was the top scorer for the team with 38 points. Sophomore Odis Grissom scored 18 points and junior Darius Duff scored 17 points. Duff had the most assists with six. Junior Tyson Johnson had the most rebounds with 12. Cook had six rebounds, and both Grissom and Duff both had five each.
The Panthers started off the scoring with a three pointer and layup, taking the lead. Cook started off the scoring for the Beavers by making two layups. Cook and sophomore Ayson McLuskie both made one three pointer each to tie it up, 10-10. The lead went back and forth between the teams throughout the first half. Duff made four free throws in a row at the end of the first half to put the Beavers up 44-42.
In the second half, the Beavers held the lead with the Panthers trailing not far behind. The Panthers only took the lead once throughout the entire second half. Johnson made a free throw to finish off the game. Blackburn took home the win from their last game of the season with a final score of 95-86.
With the conclusion of this game, the 2024-25 season has come to an end.
