Blackburn Drops Home Conference matchup to Westminster

Blackburn Women's Basketball Team lost a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup against Westminster College Saturday afternoon in Carlinville.

 

The Blue Jays exhibited tremendous defense as they held the Beavers to under 20 percent from the field and under 23 percent from behind the arc. Westminster forced Blackburn into 18 turnovers, which helped them establish and maintain their 22 to eight lead after the first quarter.  The Blue Jays won by the score of 74 to 41.

 

Jenna Dudra led the Beavers with eleven points, shooting five of twelve from the floor and seven rebounds. Maria cline followed with six points and nine rebounds. Savannah Kruse recorded six points and grabbed eight rebounds.

 

For the Blue Jays Kendal Miller led the way for 21 points off the bench, she shot eight of eleven from the floor, and five of eight from behind the arc. Kallee Dowler scored 15 points shooting six of eleven from the floor and was credited with three assists. Mikalyn Callahan scored eight points and grabbed 14 rebounds.

 

The Beavers fall to 5-15 (SLIAC 3-11) and Westminster improves to 10-11 (SLIAC 9-5). The Beavers will be back in action Wednesday at MacMurray at 5:30 PM.
