Wiegand's Twelve Kills Not Enough as Vollyball loses to Rival MacMurray

Blackburn College junior setter Kendall Burleyson was recognized before the match for achieving over 1,000 assists and breaking the Blackburn all-time service ace record.

 

The Beavers were led by junior outside hitter Kaitlyn Wiegand, who had twelve kills, but fell short losing in four sets by the scores of 26-24 Blackburn, 25-18 Mac, 25-15 Mac, and 25-20 Mac. Sophomore Lucy Magnussen had nine kills, and Freshman Kiah Bedwell had eight kills.      

 

Burleyson led Blackburn with 34 assists and two serve aces. Freshman Autumn Wilson also had two serve aces.

 

Blackburn falls to 1-10 (1-2 SLIAC). The Highlanders improve to 7-8 (2-1 SLIAC).

 

The Beavers will head north Saturday, September 28th to Eureka College to compete in two matches. The first match will begin at 11:00 A.M. versus Eureka. Then at 1:00 P.M Blackburn will face-off with Fontbonne University.
