Blackburn Falls to Webster

The Blackburn College Baseball Team struggled through a tough Saturday afternoon of baseball against St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe Webster University and lost 15-2.  The Beavers walked six batters, hit three more and committed five errors to help the visiting Gorloks.

Webster scored in the top of the first after a hit batsmen, wild pitch followed by an rbi single put Webster up 1-0.  The Gorloks blew it open in the second inning with seven runs on four hits.  Webster was aided by three walks and three errors in the frame.  Webster stretched the lead to 12-0 in the fourth inning before Blackburn got on the board with a Franklin Bush single, Donny Fuhrhop double, an rbi single from Matt Mokriakow and an rbi groundout by Aaron Moody.

Caleb Schupbach took the loss to fall to 0-4 on the season.  The Beavers and Gorloks resume the series in Sauget, Illinois on Sunday with a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
