Adam Holm Named Baseball Most Valuable Player

Senior Centerfielder Adam Holm (Chatham, Glenwood HS) was named the Blackburn College Baseball Team's Most Valuable Player for the 2023 season.  Holm hit .403 on the season which was fourth in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  Holm stole 19 bases which was second in the league.  During the season, Holm hit safely in 34 of the 37 games played and also had a 22-game hitting streak.

Freshman Catcher Pedro Medina (Houston, Texas, George W. Bush HS) was named the team's top newcomer.  Medina finished the season hitting .333, an injury to his hand caused the average to sink from a high of .385.  Freshman Brett Lander of West, Texas, West HS) was named the team's most improved player.

"All three of the team award winners are very worthy recipients," said Blackburn Head Coach Mike Neal.  Adam had a great career for us and it culminated with an outstanding senior season.  Pedro really came on in the second half until a finger injury hampered his ability to swing the bat as well as he had earlier.  Brett continued to improve all season and played a great game in our season finale in a starting role at shortstop," added Neal.
