Men's Basketball Falls to Greenville's High Powered Offense

The Blackburn College Men's Basketball Team faced off against St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponents from Greenville College on Saturday, Dec. 12 in Greenville, Ill.  Coming into the game Blackburn had an overall record of 1-7 and 1-1 in the conference and Greenville was 1-8 and 0-2 in the conference.

Both teams seemed to score at will in the faced paced first half. Blackburn shot a stellar 61 percent (25-41) from the field in the half to give them 52 points. Greenville shot 47 percent from the field (23-49) with eight of their mad e shots being three-point buckets to give them 59 points. The major difference in the half was Blackburn's 14 turnovers to Greenville's eight.

The second half was sloppy for the Beavers who shot 35 percent from the field (12-34) and turned the ball over 16 times. Greenville shot 41 percent (18-44), turned the ball over nine times and grabbed eight offensive rebounds. The Beavers were outscored by 27 in the second half and the final score was 110-80.

Blackburn moves to 1-8 on the season and 1-2 in the conference. Blackburn will be back in action on Dec. 19 in a home game against Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
