Men's Basketball Releases 2015-16 Schedule

Blackburn College Men’s Basketball is gearing up for the start of the 2015-16 season, which will include multiple tough matchups. The non-conference portion of the schedule tips-off with a match-up vs perennial top 10 team in Washington University-Saint Louis on the road, where they hold an .850 win percentage since the 84-85 season.

The rest of the non-conference schedule is highlighted by matchups with Division 2 McKendree University on the road and a trip to Tennessee in Sewanee University for an early season tournament. Games against Knox, Missouri S&T (D2) and Rose-Hulman finish out the non-conference portion of the schedule.. “Our non-conference schedule will help prepare us for the nightly challenges that the SLIAC presents.” “High-level players, want to play in high-level games, and that’s exactly what we are preparing for.”

Starting out the conference season, the Beavers travel to Fontbonne University and return home that weekend to face off against rival MacMurray College. Other notable match-ups include January 21 st where the Beavers host Spalding University who were the 2014-2015 SLIAC conference champions. Conference play continues with a series of matchups at home on February 6 th and 10 th against Principia College and Westminster College respectively.

The Beavers conclude conference play at home against Eureka on February 17 th before playing their final conference game on the road at Spalding University on February 20 th . Blackburn College has it’s sights set on post-season play this year, as only the top 4 finishers in the conference have the opportunity to play for an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
