Greenville takes Season Series against Beavers in 128-115 win

Junior Karson Hayes (Little Rock, Arkansas / John L McClellan) top scored with 32 points but it was not enough as Greenville pushed past the Beavers for a 128-115 win.

The Beavers are now 9-10 on the season and 6-6 in SLIAC play.

Greenville put the first points on the board with a layup from Swade Edwards, but no team would take a significant amount of control for the remainder of the opening half. The Beavers would have the biggest lead of the half with six points at the 2:35 mark before the Panthers went on a 10-4 run to head into the break tied 61-61.

Raushaun Amos (St. Louis, Missouri / Soldan) led the first half for the Beavers with 14 points, shooting 5 of 9 from the field and connecting on 3 of 6 from deep.

Both teams came out of the break firing on both ends before a 13-5 Panthers scoring run highlighted by a Justin Cross dunk, gave the Panthers an 87-81 lead at the 12:35 mark.

Blackburn would claw their way back; however, Greenville would gain their first double-digit lead with 7:11 remaining. The Panthers would hold on to their lead for the remainder of the game with their biggest lead reaching 18 points. The Panthers kept their composure to surge past the Beavers for the win.

Hayes led the scoring efforts with 32 points while bringing down four rebounds and assisting on six baskets. Amos finished the game with 20 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

BS shot a respectable 49.4 percent (43 of 87) from the floor in the game, while connecting on 34.5 percent (10-29) from beyond the arc. Greenville meanwhile, shot 48.5 percent (49-101) overall and 25.6 percent (11 of 43) from downtown. Blackburn controlled the rebounding battle 53-50. The Beavers also led with 30 assists to the Panthers 20.
