Basketball Drops Non-Conference matchup to Millikin

The Blackburn College Men's Basketball Team dropped a 71-60 contest to Millikin University on Monday night in non-conference action.

Millikin had a great size advantage and it showed on the boards as the Big Blue out-rebounded Blackburn 39-24 on the night.  Blackburn hung in the contest due to their quickness and better athleticsm forcing 14 turnovers while only committing seven of their own.

Blackburn took a 33-31 lead into the locker room at halftime.  The first half saw the Beavers greatest lead at five points while Millikin led by six at one point.

Millikin took the lead on a three-pointer by Calvin Fisher with 18:14 to go and led the entire rest of the way.  Millikin led by as many as ten points before a Blackburn rally cut the lead to 58-55 with 3:40 remaining but the Big Blue out-scored Blackburn 13-5 down the stretch to claim the victory.
