Blackburn Heads to Webster for SLIAC Tournament Quarterfinals

CARLINVILLE, IL – Blackburn College Men's Basketball makes a return to the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Tuesday night by visiting Webster University. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. 

Blackburn is led by senior Izayah Talmadge, who leads the team with 17.4 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. He also paces the team with 1.7 steals and 1.2 blocks a game. Sophomore Darius Duff adds 13.3 points a game. 

Senior Zach Kelsey has also started all 25 games this season as the team's inside presence while sophomores Tyson Johnson, Cayden Paquette and Cameron Johnson give the team added outside fire power. 

Webster features four players who average between 11.9 points and 9.6 points, led by Jason Coleman. Karl Moore Jr. scores 9.6 points but also adds eight rebounds and is second in the league with two blocks per game.  

The Beavers come into the game as the #5 seed while Webster claims the #4 seed. The Gorloks have gotten the best of Blackburn this season, taking the first matchup 78-68 followed by an 85-54 win in their most recent matchup. This year's tournament appearance marks a return to the postseason for the first time since they won the SLIAC Tournament during the 2021-2022 season.
