Men's Basketball Returns to Postseason Play to Highlight 2023-24 Season

CARLINVILLE, IL – The Blackburn College Men's Basketball saw more wins and a return to the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament to highlight the 2023-24 season.

The Beavers saw a significant improvement in conference play as the team won four more SLIAC contests than the 2022-23 season, helping them secure a return to the SLIAC Tournament which they missed the previous season.

Blackburn picked up their first win of the season with a 67-59 victory over Knox College prior to the start of conference season, then opened SLIAC play by winning three of their first four matchups. The team also picked up wins over Spalding and Principia while securing two victories over new league foe Mississippi University for Women's men's basketball team and one over new opponent Lyon College.

Leading BC was senior Izayah Talmadge who averaged 17 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. He finished fourth in scoring and fifth in rebounding in the SLIAC as was named First Team All-SLIAC and also earned All-Defensive honors as well.

Sophomore Darius Duff chipped in with 13.3 points per game while sophomores Cayden Paquette and Cameron Johnson, and freshman Odis Grissom all tallied seven points a game. Senior Zach Kelsey notched 4.4 rebounds with sophomore Tyson Johnson and Duff both contributed 3.5 rebounds each.
