Blackburn Men's Golf Defeats Westminster

Blackburn Men's Golf Team wins in the dual match vs Westminster by the score of 323 to 337

 

On Tuesday, September 14th at Fulton County Country Club in Fulton Missouri, the Beavers defeated the Blue Jays by a healthy margin. Blackburn was led by senior Thomas White who shot an outstanding one over (71). Freshman Conner Dorries followed with an impressive eight-over (78) in his first-ever collegiate match. Sophomore Alex Kueker followed with a respectable 12 over (82). Sophomore Drew Dixon shot a career-best 93 to wrap up the scoring for the Beavers. Junior Derek Phillips also shot a respectable 94 in his first-ever collegiate match. 

 

When asked about being back on the course for the first time this year Kueker responded with "it felt amazing. I did not feel like I played as well as I wanted to but it's always fun being back out there with my guys. We have some good young talent on the team and are looking forward to this year." 

 

White was nominated for SLIAC player of the week by coach John Malin after finishing in 1st place out of 15 golfers in the duel match against the Blue Jays. 

 

The Beaver's next match is Wednesday, September 22nd at The Links in Jacksonville Illinois.
