The Blackburn College Men's Soccer Team saw Knox College score three first half goals on their way to a 4-1 non-conference victory on Wednesday afternoon in Carlinville. For Knox, Lucas Sanchez assisted the first two goals for the Prairie Fire.
At the 49:01 mark the Beavers scored on an unassisted goal by Alex Escamilla, his second of the season. Twenty minutes later Knox put the match away on a goal by Joey Dorgan.
"We need to come out much stronger to start the match," we've been falling behind early in our matches and putting ourselves in a hole," said Blackburn defender Steven Cowles.
Knox out-shot the Beavers 26-4 for the match. Blackburn goalkeeper Alex Hammerlinck registered ten saves on the afternoon.
Blackburn is now 0-2-1 on the season while Knox improves to 2-1-1. The Beavers travel to Indiana this weekend to take on Manchester College and Anderson University.
