Blackburn's Men's Soccer falls 2-0 to Lyon University

The Blackburn Men’s soccer team played in a hard-fought match today against Lyon College. The Scots came out aggressive in the first half having eight shots compared to the Beavers one. However, the Beavers defense would hold them off. Dawson Klunk was not letting anything get by him as he and the Beavers held the Scots off until the 28th-minute mark when Erik Oliveira scored an unassisted goal to put the Scots up 1-0. The rest of the half was quiet with Lyon University only having three more shots on goal. The Beavers would go into the half trailing by one. 

 

The Beavers would try and be aggressive but were not able to succeed. The Scots took possession of the second half and stayed aggressive. However, the Beavers were able to hold them off. Hayden Fox, Hayden Reese, and Luke Attiknson tried to tie the game for the Beavers but could not connect. The Beavers continued to battle but in the 87th minute, The Scots would score, making it 2-0. 

 

The Blackburn Men’s soccer team falls to 1-9-2 for the season (0-4 in the SLIAC conference). The Beavers hope to pick up a conference win as they play Tuesday, October 17th at 4:30 P.M. against Webster University.
