Blackburn picks up first conference win on Senior Day with a 4-2 result against Eureka

The Blackburn Men’s Soccer team played against Eureka today. Today was the Beavers' senior day. The Blackburn Men’s soccer team is graduating 12 seniors this year. These seniors are Dawson Klunk, Shane Greathouse, Nicholas Vaughn, Hayden Fox, Logan Presley, Dylan Klunk, Luke Atkinson, Ryan DeWitte, Hunter Robinson, Hayden Reese, Hector Delgado, and Grant Halley. The Beavers would make their senior a success and pick up a 4-2 win over the Red Devils.  

The Red Devils came out hot having four shots on goal in the first 15 minutes. However, the Beavers would hold them off and after a great assist from Senior Hayden Fox they would come back firing with a shot of their own in the 16th minute by Senior Hayden Reese and it would connect. With a 1-0 lead the Beavers would stay aggressive and Senior Luke Atkinson would connect in the 26th minute after a great pass from Senior Dylan Klunk putting them up 2-0. However, the Red Devils would answer quickly scoring a goal in the 27th minute. Both teams would battle it and finish the first half 2-1.  

The second half was back and forth until the 72nd minute when Dylan Klunk scored a goal, assisted by Hayden Reese. Not letting up Senior Grant Halley, would take a penalty kick for Blackburn and score putting the Beavers up 4-1. The Red Devils would try and fight back scoring a goal in the 77th minute but The Beavers would hold and win 4-2.

 The Beavers finish up the regular season at Fontbonne on Saturday, October 28th, where they hope to pick up another conference win.
