Blackburn Drops the Ball Against Missouri Baptist

Yesterday evening, April 8, Blackburn played a rescheduled game against Missouri Baptist in their first home game of the season.

In game one, Blackburn came out strong in the first inning, scoring two runs early. Missouri Baptist came back in their next at bat with a two run homer and tied the game at 2-2 by the top of the second. The Beavers struggled at bat for the duration of the game and couldn't manage to bring in another run, while the Spartans earned eight more of their own. The first game ended 10-2 in the fifth inning.

In game two, both teams were evenly matched until the Beavers scored their first run in top of the third. The Spartans answered back by scoring two runs in their at bat, taking the lead 2-1. Blackburn continued to hold off anymore runs until the fifth inning, where Missouri Baptist scored seven more runs on errors and hard hits, securing their win at 9-1 in the fifth inning.

Blackburn will play Eureka College tonight, April 9, at 5pm and 7pm in their second home game, hoping to improve on their current 1-3 conference record.
