Blackburn Softball drops a double-header to Fontbonne College by the scores of 8-0 and 5-0 on April 22nd in Carlinville, Illinois.
In the first game the Beavers were out-hit eight to three. Blackburn also committed four costly errors.
The Griffins started the scoring in the first with a sac fly from Grace Paez to drive in Lexi Becker. After a few quiet innings the scoring would pick back up as Fontbonne scored five runs in the fourth. After a runner reached on a hit and another reached on an error Hannah Miener homered to open up the game.The Griffins would add another two runs to extend the lead to six. Fontbonne would score another two runs in the fifth inning.

In the second game the Griffins out-hit Blackburn ten to one. Leading to a 5-0 win.
The game started in a pitchers duel as both teams combined for a total of three hits through three innings. In the top of the fourth, Sara Joines singled, scoring Fontbonne's first run and making the score 1-0. Hailey Miener blasted her second home run of the day in the same inning, driving in two more runs. In the top of the fifth inning, Gracie Morris hit a sacrifice fly that scored another run for Fontbonne, giving them a 4-0 lead. Fontbonne added yet another run in the top of the seventh inning when Grace Harland singled to left field. Grace Harlin would another insurance run in the top of the 7th game.
