Blackburn Takes Dominant Win in Conference Matchup.

The Blackburn women's basketball team (4-12, 1-7 SLIAC) defeated home team Principia (1-11, 0-0 SLIAC) 79-45 Tuesday afternoon.

The Beavers absolutely dominated the Panthers in the first half outscoring them 40-18. 10 points from sophomore guard Jenna Dudra (Pana, Illinois / Pana) in the first quarter lead the Beavers on one of their most successful halves of the season. Dudra also added two steals and an assist in the first period.

The second quarter was much of the same as BC scored 20 points to Principia's 10. Kate Smith (DuQuoin, Illinois / DuQuoin) led the Beavers in scoring in the second providing six points to go along with one rebound, an assist, and a steal

With the game being 40-18 at the half, Blackburn once again absolutely dominated the third quarter, outscoring Principia 19-9 to take a 59-27 advantage into the games final 10 minutes. The Beavers shot 8 of 23 (34.8 percent) from the field during the third quarter while limiting the Wildcats to a paltry 4-15 (26.7 percent).
 
The fourth quarter was close in scoring though BC outscored the Panthers 20-18 to close out the 79-45 win.
 
Callista Francis (Fredericktown, Missouri / Fredericktown) led all players with 19 points on 8 of 15 (53.3 percent) shooting from the field. She was joined in double figures by Dudra with 15 points, Gariel Pierce (Springfield, Illinois / Southeast) with 14 points, and Madison Duncan (Dixon, Missouri / Dixon) with 11.
