the Beavers Dominate in Home Conference Matchup

The Blackburn Women's Basketball Team won a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup against Principia College Saturday afternoon.

 

The Beavers built an early lead and never looked back as they led 23 to 8 after one quarter. The Beavers outshot the Panthers from the floor 46 percent to 33 percent. The Beavers forced 26 turnovers which helped extend their lead. Blackburn defeated Principia by a final score of 84 to 37.

 

Blackburn had four players in double-digits and were led by Savannah Kruse's 21 points. Kruse was eight of 15 from the floor and three of four from the free throw line. Jenna Dudra also had 21 points off of 19 shots. Lexie Black had eleven points off of ten shots, and also had six assists. Kaylee Pedigo was credited with ten points and five rebounds.

 

The Panthers were led by Sophie Hathaway as she scored 21 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Madi Leslie followed with twelve points and five rebounds.

 

Blackburn improves 5-13, (3-9 SLIAC) and Principia falls to 0-16, (0-12 SLIAC). Blackburn travels to Iowa Wesleyan for a 5:30 tip-off.
