The Blackburn College Women's Soccer team put on a show in their first home game of the season. The hot Saturday afternoon must have heated up Blackburn's cleats as they trounced Robert Morris University-Springfield 16-0.

The hometown tandem of juniors Alexis Richie and Nique Byots combined for six goals and three assists. Richie had a hat trick plus one which gives her a team lead of four goals scored.

Junior Allison Guerra(Elsah, Ill.) dished the ball around the field all game, leading the team in assists with three.  Guerra also added two goals as did freshman Christy Hobbs(Highland, Ill.). Hobbs also notched two assists.

Five Beavers, including Hobbs,  scored their first collegiate goal. Sarah Collman(Staunton, Ill.), Katerina Emmons(Carlinville, Ill.), Mary Chamberlain(Johnsburg, Ill.), and Jordan Parker(Waterloo, Ill.) all got to enjoy that moment.

Emma Witte(Festus, Mo.) and Chelsea McMillian(Bethalto, Ill.) each tallied a goal. Witte added an assist while McMillian had two.

Although senior goalkeeper Shana Sewick(Belvidere, Ill.) didn't have much action in net for the Beavers, she recorded her first shutout of the season.
