The Blackburn College Women's Soccer Team earned their first conference win of the season in dominating fashion on Wednesday afternoon in Carlinville. The Beavers outplayed the visiting Eureka College Red Devils with a score of 5-0.

Blackburn freshman Casey Fellin (Gillespie, Ill.) got on the board just three and a half minutes into the contest with her third goal of the year. Senior Allison Guerra (Elsah, Ill.) netted a second Blackburn tally for her third goal as well. Meghan Sykora (Arnold, Mo.) assisted on both of those Blackburn goals for a team-high five assists.

Sykora then decided to get in on the scoring action herself and put three goals in the back of the net to push her season total to nine. This marked her second hat trick of the year and her third muli-goal game. Jessica Esper (Riverton, Ill.) dished the ball to Sykora on two of her effors while Kara Taylor (St. Louis, Mo.) notched the other assist.

Nicole Kelly (St. Louis, Mo.), fresh off her second Defensive Player of the Week honor, recorded another shutout to make it four on the year. She wasn't tested much but did answer the call when it came her way by making three total saves. The Beavers outshot Eureka 27-7.

Through 14 games, Blackburn stands at 6-7-1 overall with a 1-2-1 mark in conference play. They will travel all the way to Iowa Wesleyan this Saturday for a 1:00 PM kickoff.
