Beavers Record First Shutout  Against Rockford

The Blackburn College Women's Soccer team wins 3-0 non-conference match against Rockford on Saturday in Carlinville. After a scoreless first period, the beavers scored in the 51st minute by Senior Christy Hobbs with an assist by Jessica Esper.  Then Sophmore Jasmine Tillman hits in two more goals with an assist from Freshman Annie Gnatt in the 59th minute, and then a solo goal in the 81st minute. Goalkeeper Maya March had a total of 5 saves to shutout the Regents. Blackburn outshot Rockford Regents 30-9 in the match.

The Beavers move to 2-5-1 on the season

Blackburn is back in action on Sunday as they travel to Cincinnati, Ohio to take on Mount St. Joeseph Universtiy at 1:00 pm CST.
