Junior volleyball player, Emily Eitzenhefer, returned to the track for the first time since high school at the IC True Blue Invite at Jacksonville on Friday, April 7. Eitzenhefer competed in the long jump, triple jump, and the open 400-meter dash. On her first day back on the track, Eitzenhefer’s long jump qualified as the eighth best in the SLIAC so far this outdoor season.

Coach Al Sturgeon said, “It isn’t easy to jump back into track and field after several years, and I was very proud of what Emily was able to do on Friday. Emily is a fantastic athlete that is driven by high expectations of herself. I think she has the chance to make some waves in field events, not only in the long and triple jumps, but the high jump as well.”

Eitzenefer will be joined by her teammates next Saturday at the Greenville University Select Meet on April 15.
