After Spalding took game one by a commanding score of 25-14, it looked like it was going to be a long night for the Beavers.· Spalding·jumped to a quick 6-0 lead and stayed in control the·entire set.··However, Blackburn began to show signs of life towards the end, but could not muster a rally.

Carrying their momentum, the·Beavers·bounced back in the second set·as they sat with a comfortable lead.·However,·an explosive five straight service point rally by Spalding·late in the second set·cost the Beavers the victory as they·fell 24-26.

In the third set, Blackburn started off hot in the beginning as they established a 9-3 lead. Spalding began to chip away to tie it up at 10 apiece.· It went back and forth until down 21-22, Spalding scored 4 straight unanswered service points to end the Beavers night.

Up front, Blackburn was led by Jessica McClelland with 10 kills while Samantha Downs added 11 digs.· Now at 1-15, Blackburn will travel to Greenville College to play their next game on October 6.
