ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: Wendy Pocklington Class of 2018

Originally from Girard, Illinois, Wendy is currently in her third year of
medical school at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford, Illinois, in the
Rural Medicine Education Program (Class of 2023) with the hopes of becoming a pediatrician.

Wendy still enjoys running “when it is not too cold out!”

Wendy shared: “Some of my favorite cross country memories are eating at Ding together as a
team after long runs. We once met [legendary distance runner] Craig Virgin after a XC meet, and
he recommended that a mixture of half Powerade with half water was the best drink for
rehydration, so we would always make our own ‘Craig Virgin’ drinks in Ding after practice.”
