Johnson, Patton Earn Blackburn Athletes of the Week

CARLINVILLE, IL -- Freshman Alexis Johnson and Senior Kobe Patton earned Blackburn College Athletes of the Week after their performances for the cross country teams Friday evening. 

Johnson made her debut in strong fashion as she led the women's team with a time of 26:17 to place second on the three-mile course.  Patton got his season started with a men's team best of 25:12. 

Blackburn enters a busy week this week as the men and women's golf teams get their season started with dual meet with Eureka College Monday before the men head to the IC Fall Invitational Tuesday. The golf teams conclude the week at the Fightin' Scots Invitational in Monmouth Saturday and Sunday.

Women's soccer will host Illinois College Tuesday afternoon and host Stephens College Friday. 

Volleyball hits the road for multiple games, starting their week Tuesday at Dominican University. They then head to Hanover College for the Hanover Invitational where the Beavers will take on Hanover and Kenyon College Friday then Saturday face Rhodes College and Trine University. 

Men's soccer is in action with matches Tuesday at the University of Health Science and Pharmacy, and Friday when they host Buena Vista University. The cross country teams enjoy a week away from competition.
