Johnson, Burrows Named Blackburn Athletes of the Week

CARLINVILLE, IL -- Cross Country runners swept the Blackburn College Athletes of the Week after lead their respective teams at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships. 

On the women's side, freshman Alexis Johnson posted a team-best time of 27:25.74 on the 6k course.  

Sam Burrows ran his 8k race in 29:47.56 to lead the men's team. 

This week sees the women's basketball team get their season started with a trip to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where they will take on Mount Mary University Friday night and Alverno College Saturday. Volleyball concludes their regular season at Webster University and will play Webster and Mississippi University for Women Saturday. With one win, and Eureka College losing to Spalding University, the volleyball team will secure a berth in the SLIAC Tournament. The wrestling team also get their season underway by taking part in the Millikin Open Saturday.
