Frey, Kasprowicz Named Athletes of the Week

CARLINVILLE,IL- Sophomore Frey and Freshman Kasprowicz earned Blackburn College Athletes of the Week. After both being named the SLIAC Hitter and Pitcher of the week it was only fitting they were chosen as our athletes of the week as well!

Frey finished the week with six hits, five runs, and seven runs batted in. She added a double and posted four home runs during the week to give her five on the season, which already surpasses her total from last season. She finished the week batting .333 with a slugging percentage of 1.056. She was key in the team's victory over St. Lawrence University as she belted two home runs in the win and finished with two hits two runs and four rbi's. She added a homer in the win over Plymouth State University and another one against Macalester College. 

Kasprowicz picked up his first career win after guiding the Beavers to a 10-1 victory Saturday over Principia College to open SLIAC play. In the game, the freshman went eight innings, threw six strikeouts and allowed just one run. He also appeared in two games against Dallas Christian where he allowed just one hit and no runs. In ten innings of work, he allowed just one run to post an earned run average of just 0.90.
