Blackburn Baseball Drops Matchup with St. Norbert

PLEASANT PLAINS, IL -- Blackburn College Baseball continued their opening weekend at Pleasant Plains High School by hosting St. Norbert College, but despite scoring in the first inning were unable to hold on as they dropped their nonconference matchup 8-1. 

Andrew Lozano and Andrew Garza led the team with a double each. Garza also added a run batted in. Harley Carney and Jason Hedges both also added a hit. 

After St. Norbert scored in their first inning, Lozano doubled to centerfield with two outs to give the Beavers their first runner of the game. Garza followed with a double to left which allowed Lozano to score and tie the game at 1-1. However, BC would be unable to score again which allowed St. Norbert to capture an 8-1 victory. 

The Beavers return to the field Sunday to host Wisconsin Lutheran College at Pleasant Plains for their third game of opening weekend.
