Baseball Drops Doubleheader at Greenville

GREENVILLE, IL -- Blackburn College Baseball visited Greenville College Friday evening for a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader that  spanned two days but were unable to capture victory as the Beavers fell to the Panthers.

In the nightcap, freshman Gehrig Loera got the game started with a single then advanced to third on a throwing error. Sophomore Harley Carney came up next and singled which scored Loera and put BC up 1-0.

The team added another run in the sixth with Loera again starting the inning by getting on base with a single. With two outs, freshman Diego Perez doubled to advance Loera to third. senior Zach Knox followed with a single to Loera for his second run of the game and gave Blackburn a 2-0 lead.

Unfortunately Greenville answered with four runs in their sixth which proved too much to overcome as the Panthers captured the game with a 9-2 victory.

The opener saw the Panthers win 18-0.
