TEXAS -- The Blackburn College Baseball team continued their spring break trip in Texas with doubleheaders at Arlington Baptist University and Austin College.
Against ABU, the Patriots, who've played 25 games already this season, proved too much for BC as they captured 8-1 and 25-4 victories. The Beavers then visited Austin where they fell to the Roos 13-3 and 4-3.
BC scored first in both matchups against Austin. In the second game, Harley Carney scored on a batted ball from Andrew Lozano that resulted in a Roo error. The hosts answered with a run in the first, second and third innings to make it 3-1 after three. Pedro Medina added a run in the fifth inning to narrow the gap when he scored on a single from Royce Congi.
Austin added one more run in the sixth. The seventh inning opened with a Medina double followed by a Brett Lander single. Medina scored on the next at bat, but it was all Blackburn was able to score, falling 4-3.
The team continues their trip with two games at Dallas Christian College Wednesday and one more against DCC Thursday.
