Five Reach Double Figures Against Fontbonne
CARLINVILLE, IL– The Blackburn Men’s Basketball Team took on Fontbonne University Wednesday night in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. The Beavers took it down to the wire but fell short losing 81-76.
CARLINVILLE, IL– The Blackburn Men's Basketball Team took on Fontbonne University Wednesday night in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. The Beavers took it down to the wire but fell short losing 81-76.
The Beavers starting five was efficient in the loss with all five recording double digits. Junior Darius Duff led the Beavers with 16 points and 8 rebounds, followed by sophomore Odis Grissom recording 14 points. Senior Brody Barr recorded 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Junior Tyson Johnson had 12 points, followed by junior Nick Cook with 11 points.
The first half remained close with neither team able to take a big lead. Going into the second half the Beavers led 35-34. The second half proved to be as just as much of a battle. Fontbonne would go up near the end and seal the game with a final of 81-76.
The Beavers return to action in SLIAC play on Saturday as they travel to Greenville College
