Men's Basketball Takes Fontbonne To OT
ST.LOUIS, MO–On Wednesday night, the Blackburn College Men's Basketball team took on St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponent Fontbonne University. The Beavers hit a crucial shot in the game's final seconds to send it to overtime but fell short 81-76.

Junior Nick Cook led the Beavers with 23 points and 13 rebounds to pick up a double-double on the night. Odis Grissom recorded 15 points and 9 rebounds. Coming off the bench Cameron Johnson scored 12 points, followed by Kameron Hanvery with 10.
The Griffins came out on fire taking a 10-3 lead within just the first few minutes of the game. The Beavers didn't back down and would quickly tie it up 21-21. They would flip the script and take a 30-23 lead with just five minutes left in the first half. Blackburn would end the half up 36-34.
In the second half, both teams continued to trade baskets as neither team was willing to give an inch. Just when Fontbonne looked to win the game with under a minute left they missed a crucial bucket. Odis Grissom would snag the rebound and with just under 30 seconds left knock down a three to send the game to overtime. In overtime, Fontbone would score six straight points, and unfortunately, the Beavers were not able to recover losing 81-76.
The Beavers return to action on Saturday as they take on SLIAC opponent Greenville University at 3 P.M.
