Barr Honored on Senior Day
CARLINVILLE, IL -- The Blackburn College Men’s Basketball team honored senior Brody Barr prior to their matchup with Lyon College.
CARLINVILLE, IL – The Blackburn College Men's Basketball team took on Lyon University in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday, February 15th, at Dawes Gymnasium. The Beavers fought hard but ultimately fell short, losing 68-53.
Prior to the game, the team honored their lone senior, Brody Barr for his contribution to the program during his career.
Lyon University set the tone early, leading 35-29 at halftime. Blackburn kept the game within reach but was unable to overcome Lyon's efficiency in the second half, as the visitors outscored them 33-24.
Ayson McLuskie led the Beavers with 17 points, including three three-pointers, while adding four rebounds. Nick Cook contributed 11 points and seven rebounds, providing a strong presence in the paint. Brody Barr and Owen Walter added six and eight points, respectively, but Blackburn struggled from the field, shooting just 32.8% overall and 25.9% from beyond the arc.
Despite a strong defensive effort, Blackburn could not slow down Lyon's Kylon McCullough, who led all scorers with 23 points and nine rebounds. Frank Toney also added 19 points for the visitors.
The Beavers are back in action on Wednesday, February 19th as they travel to Webster University for more SLIAC action.
