Beavers Win Spring Opener Tri-Match

Beavers Win Spring Opener Tri-Match

On March fourth Blackburn College Men's Golf team competed in an early spring exhibition tri-match against Greenville College and Illinois College at Belk Park in Alton, Ill.  The weather could not have been better as the Beavers found themselves in 60 degree weather with the sun shining a perfect day for golf.  The course was set up for low scores as it played just a tad shorter than in the fall and the greens were soft with very little wind throughout the day to affect the golf ball.  The Beavers finished the day with a team score of 311 which was good enough to beat second place team Illinois College who shot a 327, rounding out the team scores was Greenville College who shot a 408.  Junior Jordan McMillen and Freshman Keegan Easley led the team with 77s on the day and a tie for second.  Sophomore Anthony Harper was not far behind with a 78 finishing solo fourth.  Rounding out the team score was Trenton Easley who shot a 79 finishing solo 5th.  The low round of the day came for Joey Conway of Illinois College who shot a 76.

The Beavers look to get back in action on April 2nd as they travel to St. Louis to compete in the Gorlok Invitational.
