Day One Recap of Gorlok Invite

Day One Recap of Gorlok Invite

To kick off the spring season, the Blackburn Men's Golf team headed to St. Louis to compete in the Gorlok Spring Invite.  The Beavers found themselves in optimal conditions for scoring as the course played much easier than in the past.  Day one of the tournament is played at Aberdeen Country Club, which also happens to be the conference tournament host, a grueling links style course with swirling winds all day long.  Blackburn was led by freshman, Keegan Easley who shot a college career low 73.  When asked about his round Easley said "I felt confident in my shots today.  I told myself to focus on hitting greens and the birdies would come.  After hitting eight of nine greens on the front, I felt pretty confident starting the back nine.  It was a great day for golf and I played well."  Keegan Easley currently sits tied for eleventh place.  Following him was his brother Trenton Easley who shot an 80, and sophomore Anthony Harper carded an 82.  Rounding out the scoring for Blackburn was Jordan McMillen and Kyle Kesinger who both shot 83.  Day two's contest is to be held at Sunset Hills Country Club which is also located in St. Louis.  Tee times go as follows: Kyle Kesinger at 9:10am, Jordan McMillen at 9:20am, Anthony Harper at 9:30am, Trenton Easley at 9:40am, and Keegan Easley at 9:50am.
