Blackburn Competes in Conference Tournament

The Blackburn Men's Golf Team would compete in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament on April 25th and 26th at Polo Fields Country Club in Louisville, Kentucky. The tournament would consist of a long 36-hole day on Monday and 18 holes the following day.

On the very narrow and difficult course in Louisville, Blackburn would struggle on day one. This would be senior Thomas White's final collegiate tournament and he would put up a very strong 79 in the opening round. On the second 18 of the day, freshman Connor Dorries would step up and shoot a very impressive 78 in his first conference tournament. Alex Kueker and Justin Atkinson would both shoot in the mid to high 80s on both 18s on day one.

Day two would treat the Beavers much better. White would shoot a 77 in his final round at Blackburn and close out his incredible career. Dorries would also shoot a 79 and add to one of the best freshmen seasons in recent history. Kueker and Atkinson would also play well on the final day as Kueker would shoot an 83 and Atkinson would follow with an 88.

Blackburn would make up many strokes on day two but it would not be enough to gain much ground. The Beavers would tie with Westminister for 9th place in the conference tournament. This will end the season for Blackburn as they will pick their season back up in the fall with a very young and promising new team.
