Men's Golf Defeats Two SLIAC Foes in Prep for SLIAC Championships

CARLINVILL, IL – Blackburn College Men's Golf picked up two victories over St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rivals as they prepare to head to the SLIAC Championships. 

On Tuesday the team hosted Eureka College at the Lincoln Greens Golf Course in Springfield, Illinois and defeated the Red Devils 332-357. 

Sophomore Kevin Hall finished in first overall with a round of 79. Freshman Jacob Sauvage was third overall and posted a score of 83. 

Junior Justin Atkinson and sophomore Dylan Best both shot an 85 with sophomore Bryce Wrightsman notching an 87 to round out the team scoring. 

The team then return to action Wednesday and took on Westminster College at Timber Lakes Golf Course in Staunton, Illinois where they defeated the Blue Jays 342-351. 

Hall again led the way as he shot an 81 while Atkinson was second overall with an 83. Wrightsman was fourth and posted an 87. 

Best was at 91 and Sauvage shot 92 to wrap up the team scoring. 

Sophomore Nick Rosborough competed as an independent and shot an 88 while sophomore Ryan Farris also competed as independent and finished with a 90. 

The team will now turn its attention to the SLIAC Championships starting Sunday. The event takes place at Metamora Fields in Metamora, Illinois.
