Men's Golf Posts Best Round in Years at BC Invite
AUBURN, IL -- Blackburn College Men's Golf hosted the BC Invite Thursday and Friday and won the second day, but took second overall by just one stroke.
AUBURN, IL -- Blackburn College Men's Golf hosted the BC Invite Thursday and Friday and posted their best round score in several years to win the second day but took second overall by just one stroke.
On Thursday, the Beavers posted a score of 334, trailing Westminster's 328. The team followed it up with a 306 on Friday to outperform Westminster's 311, but came up one stroke short for the event victory. The team's score of 306 was the team's best round in the last several years of competing.
Individually, senior Bryce Wrightsman led Blackburn with a final score of 151, shooting a 78 on day one and led the field with a 73 on day two.
Kevin Hall took second for Blackburn with scores of 85 and 76 while senior Jacob Sauvage shot 82 and 80 over the two days.
Freshman Jordan Williams, junior Nicholas Rosborough and Ryan Farris rounded out the team's participants.
Blackburn will now turn their attention to the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships taking place on May 3 and 4 at Timbergate Golf Course in Edinburgh, Indiana.
