Blackburn Burns Red Devils, 5-1

The Blackburn College men's soccer team put on a scoring clinic by beating·Eureka College 5-1 on Wednesday afternoon. The win marked the first SLIAC victory of the year for Blackburn as they improved to 1-3 in conference and 6-7 overall.

Prince Koroma once again pushed Blackburn in the right direction by scoring his·10th goal of the season in the 19th minute. The score was only 1-0 at half, but soon after the Beavers couldn't stop the scoring madness. T

Three minutes after the break of halftime, freshman Mikey Stevenson fought for a corner kick in the box and knocked it home to increase the Beavers' lead to two. Just over a minute later,·Prince Koroma·scored his 11th goal of the year and 2nd of the game·to get Blackburn to a 3-0 advantage.

Later in the half, the Beavers again scored back to back goals. This time the duo was Josh Kutesky and Lucas Rochkes. Kutesky's goal was also his 11th of the season which puts Koroma and Kutesky at the top·of the SLIAC leaderboard. Rochkes' goal was just a great pass by Sahr Kanjama and a great finish by Rochkes.

The Beavers would allow one goal later in the half on a ball that just eluded the outstretched arms of goalkeeper Shane Rogers. Rogers had six saves on the afternoon.

Blackburn will try to climb the conference standings as the play at Westminster College this Saturday at 7 p.m.
