Miller, Rogers Propel Beavers Over Principia

The Blackburn College Men's Soccer team pulled out a 1-0 victory over conference opponent Principia College on Tuesday afternoon in Carlinville.

With the score deadlocked at zero for·about two-thirds·of the game, Alex Miller gave the Beavers the lead for good in the 63rd minute by rifling a shot into the back of the net on an assist by Brett Becherer.

That would be all that sophomore goalkeeper Shane Rogers would need. He stopped all ten Panthers' shots on goal in the contest to record the shutout. His defense, led by Zac Ruyle and Brock Eddings, helped keep the shutout as well.

The Beavers are now 2-3-1 in confernce which puts them in sixth place. They are 7-8-1 overall on the season. Spalding University will come down to Carlinville this Saturday to play a SLIAC contest that will begin at 1 p.m.
