Blackburn Men's Soccer Shut out by Westminster

Blackburn Men's Soccer falls to Westminster College by the score of four to zero on Saturday in Carlinville, Illinois. 



Westminster controlled most of the game, out-shooting the Beavers 23 to ten and holding possession 52 percent of the game. 

 

Westminster took an early lead in the ninth minute of the game, with a goal from Bukuru Dieudone and an assist from Freddy Nene. That would be the only scoring in the first half. The Blue Jays out-shot the Beavers nine to three in the first half. Blackburn's goalie Dawson Klunk had one save and one goal allowed at halftime.

 

In the second half, Westminster would add to their lead as Patrick Wisnewski scored on a penalty kick in the 53rd minute. A few minutes later Philip Udinyiwe would extend the lead with a goal of his own. In the 63rd minute, Udinyiwe would score another goal and Nene would pick up his second assist. 

 

Hayden Reese led the way offensively for Blackburn leading them with three shots. Hayden Fox followed with two shots. 

 

Klunk had a total of nine saves for Blackburn. Chase Vogt had one save for the Blue Jays. Vogt improves to 2-1-1 on the season. Klunk falls to 2-3-0 on the season.
