Late Knox Goal Dooms Blackburn
CARLINVILLE, IL -- The Blackburn College Men's Soccer team scored two second half goals to tie a nonconference match with Knox College but a late goal from the Prairie Fire proved the difference as the Beavers fell to Knox 3-2.

CARLINVILLE, IL -- The Blackburn College Men's Soccer team scored two second half goals to tie a nonconference match with Knox College but a late goal from the Prairie Fire proved the difference as the Beavers fell to Knox 3-2.
The guests scored two goals in the first half to lead 2-0 at the break. In the second half, Johnny Perla capitalized on a foul inside the box as he put the ball past the goalkeeper for his first career goal in the 66th minutes.
Freshman Fredy Paiz tied the game in the 78th minute. Freshman Cristian Cazares found Paiz in the middle of the field which Paiz was able to blast it into the net for his first career goal.
Unfortunately, Knox found another score with just five minutes left which proved the difference, giving the Prairie Fire a 3-2 victory.
Blackburn now moves to 0-2-2 on the year while Knox is now 2-1-1. The Beavers return to the pitch Sunday when hit the road to take on local power Illinois Wesleyan University.
