Andy Arterburn continues as the Men's Assistant Soccer Coach at Blackburn College. Andy comes to Blackburn having recently retired after 31+ years as a Geospatial Intelligence Analyst (Cartography/Imagery Analyst; member of NGA Volunteer Deployment Team with 3 deployments to Iraq and 3 deployments to Afghanistan) for the National Geospatial- Intelligence Agency of the US Department of Defense and over 4 years with the US Air Force (Desert Shield/Desert Storm Veteran). While working full time, Andy had previously coached men’s and women’s teams for various age groups consisting of recreational, club/select, high school and college level teams. Certified as a US Soccer “D” Coaching Licensed individual, Andy is a passionate and an experienced Soccer Coach/Player with a proven track record of guiding student athletes to achieve both personal and team achievements on and off the field.

As a player, Andy excelled at the high school and collegiate level and continues to play to this day. Building a good team, helping student/athletes maximize their performance levels and reach career highs on and off the field are of utmost importance to Andy. He believes in bringing forth a commitment to fostering a positive team environment conducive to the success and the overall wellness of the student athlete and Blackburn’s Men’s soccer program in order to represent Blackburn College at the highest levels.

Arterburn is a graduate of Belleville West Township High School where he played soccer and a graduate of Eastern Illinois University (BS-Geology).  Collegiate playing experience includes Belleville Area College (SWIC), Tarkio College and McKendree College.

Andy and his wife Ann reside in Waterloo, Illinois.  They have two adult children together, Alli and Alec.
