Beavers Return to Indoor Season with Strong Performances at Principia Relays
ELSAH, Ill. – The Blackburn College indoor track & field teams continued their 2025 season at the Principia Relays on Friday, January 31, with many record-breaking performances. The Beavers set multiple indoor school records while several athletes posted personal bests in their events.

School Records on Day One
Byron McNeil set a new indoor school record in the long jump, reaching 5.38m.
In the women's 5,000m, Blackburn set another indoor school record, as Liv Leemon returned to the track after a year hiatus and clocked 23:54.81.
Christian Miller led the way in the men's 5,000m, setting an indoor school record with a time of 20:48.31, while Uli Espinoza also represented the Beavers in the event.
The men's distance medley relay (DMR) team of Collyn Oberkfell (1200m), Julio Palma (400m), Landan Tribble (800m), and Sam Burrows (1600m) shattered the previous school record, finishing in 12:06.70.
In the men's 200m, Kobe Patton (27.74) and Julio Palma (27.92) both delivered good performances to start their seasons.
The men and women are back for day 2 of the Principia Relays this morning and afternoon!
