Blackburn Track & Field Sets Multiple School Records at SLIAC Indoor Championships
Elsah, IL – The Blackburn College Track & Field team made an impact at the 2025 SLIAC Indoor Championships on Saturday, setting multiple school records and achieving personal bests.

Freshman Michaela Moulton was the sole representative for the women's team, competing in the shot put. She threw a new school record and indoor personal best of 7.20m.
On the men's side, sophomore Collyn Oberkfell placed 7th in the 800m, scoring points for the Beavers while setting a new school record and indoor personal record of 2:09.77.
In the field events, freshman Byron McNeil secured 4th place in the triple jump with a mark of 13.17m, narrowly missing the podium. Sophomore Patton also hit a new mark in the long jump, recording an indoor PR of 5.21m.
Sophomores Kobe Patton and Julio Palma put together strong performances in the 200m dash. Patton set an indoor PR and school record of 26.10, while Palma ran a season-best 27.57.
Sophomore Christian Miller and senior Ulises Espinoza both clocked personal bests in the mile, with Miller finishing in 5:35.62 and Espinoza in 5:47.07.
The team capped off the meet with a performance in the 4x400m relay, closing out a day of competition.
Blackburn now moves on to their outdoor season which gets started at the Millikin Big Blue Invitational on March 29.
