Beavers Fall 8-0 Both Games vs WashU

The Blackburn Beavers fell 8-0 to Washington University in both games at Blackburn on Saturday, April 26, during the teams senior day.

In game one, Annie Pitkin got it done in the circle for the Bears on the way to a win. She tossed four innings of shutout ball. She struck out eight, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Amber Byrley took the loss for the Beavers. She allowed eight runs in five innings, walked three and struck out none.

The lead stayed with Washington University after the first, when they scored three runs on a fielder's choice, a groundout by Hannah Mehrle, and an RBI single by Alyssa Wilson.

During game two, Aimee Kerley did her best to will the Beavers to a win with a two-hit game, but Blackburn dropped the ball.

Kelsey Neal recorded the win for Washington University. She pitched four shutout innings. She struck out three, walked none and surrendered three hits.

Maggie IngellHannah Mehrle and Janet Taylor  also helped lead Washington University. They combined for eight hits and two RBIs.

Lauren Rhodes took the loss for the Beavers. She allowed eight runs in seven innings, walked one and struck out none.

Washington University went up for good in the first, scoring two runs on an RBI double by Mehrle and an error.

Washington University increased its lead with three runs in the sixth. The inning got off to a hot start when Ingell singled, scoring Adrienne White.
