Women's Basketball Done In by Eureka's 3rd Quarter Run

The Blackburn College Women's Basketball team came up just short, losing to the Eureka College Red Devils by the score of 71-62. at Blackburn College in Carlinville on Saturday. Down by the score of 30-28 at the half Blackburn just wasnt able to get over the edge to pull out the victory Eureka went on a 17-0 run in the third quarter which began with Blackburn holding a 36-33 lead with 6:04 to play in the third.  The deciding run lasted 5:04 on the clock.

The three stars of the game for the Beavers include Savannah Kruse who had 14 points, nine rebounds and went four of four at the free throw line, Maria Cline who had 16 points, nine rebounds and four of six from the free throw line and also Callista Francis who had ten points, seven rebounds and a steal.

Blackburn shot 41 percent from the field but was hurt by committing 27 turnovers.

Blackburn falls to 2-7 overall and 1-3 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference while Eureka, who was led in scoring by Kennedy Dura with 21 points, improves to 3-5 and 1-3.
